Restless Leg Syndrome???
Ok so last night was HORRIBLE. HOR-RI-BLE. My legs and arms were so restless, it was insane. I had to violently shake my arms like a rabid bird on crack, do scissor kicks, and then finally pace back and forth through my room just to give myself a little relief. If there was a hidden camera in my bedroom, I could have won Americans Funniest Videos for sure. It took me 2+ hours to finally fall asleep. I googled it and it seems like this can happen after having surgery....and it is also a side effect from coming off of painkillers (I just finished my percocet prescription on Wednesday night). Has anyone else experienced this after WLS?? And if so, did it last long?? I think I may have to go to a mental hospital if it happens much more.
I have not experienced this but my has had it all her life!! I know what you are going through because I see how she struggles with it so bad. When we go on long car rides, she is constantly kicking her legs. Her doctor finally put her on soma and that has help her sleep sooooo much better! I hope it get better for you!
I have had it for years as well and take a very low dose of Klonopin (which is an off-label use for this) which works well for me - I can remember going to the beach in my younger years with a group of women and they told me I "fought the bed" all night long . . .
I'm sorry you are going through this post-op but it probably is coming off your narcotic.

I had this problem about a week post surgery and while it DID coincide with my withdrawal from pain meds, I also started a different vitamin at that point with added iron. Since then, I can tell if I'm low on iron if my legs start to get jumpy at night.
Good luck! This problem is SO frustrating.
