Friday I start the soft foods stage.  I'm going to try a scrambled egg for breakfast and I'm wondering...should I be able to eat an entire scrambled egg?  How much of it should I be aiming to eat at this point?  Don't want to make myself sick.

Thanks!

Eggs can be tricky. I was only able to eat a couple of bites at first and they really didn't sit well. I would go slowly with them and you probably won't come close to eating all of it. Good luck

Hi! Good luck with the transition. I'm not an expert and am curious to hear the answers.  I was on liquids for 3 weeks before purees.  I just had my first scrambled egg on Sunday and it was fine and I had one full egg.  I'm 6 weeks post op though.  I had tried egg salad before and that was not a great experience (but that could just be me).  Scrambled was a-okay

I was able to tolerate scrambled egg but not hard boil eggs nor over easy eggs. I ate 1 whole egg but it took be about 40-45 min at 3 weeks out.

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping I do okay with hard-boiled/egg salad b/c I was really looking forward to it!

I was able to eat a whole hard boiled egg, when cleared for eggs...   Don't judge by me or anyone else, we all react different at various stages.   Many on here say they could not eat a whole egg, just chew it really well and eat it slowly, eat what you can of that one egg until your full, if your not full, stop there anyway... but never the less don't let the excitement of being able to eat new foods at any stage, get in the way of your hitting your daily water and protein intakes recommended under your doctors post surgical food plan stage program.    Congratulations and good luck...

TBH I have tried little bits of cheese, and fruit and a few other things I like just to test the new sleeve but I havne't ttired an egg. I would suggest to not scamble it as there is air in there. Hope you enjoy it. I used to love 3 eggs, boiled with rye bread( 3 peices) everyday  hahaha not a chance now thank god.

I was able to eat an entire egg, no issues. Just go slow. I also can have a hard boiled egg, but I only ate the white.

eggs were the first thing i tried also.  i had 1/4 cup of scrambled eggs with 1/4 of a laughing cow cheese wedge and some taco sauce.  then i pureed the hell out of it just incase.  i ate about 1/3 of that. lol.

I scrambled the white only, tried hard boiled but at that stage it didn't sit well. I was able to eat the whole serving.

Now I eat hardboiled, white only, daily! Its my morning snack, bfast is a protien shake.
