Got all the pre-op diet goodies. It dont looks so bad, I just hope its not.

I hear that alot of people go on liquids for the last 2 weeks before surgery, but my diet is 2 shakes a day and a lean meat and veggies for dinner.

Is that normal for everyone?

Surgery Date 05/17 and I'm down 19lbs already, YAY!!

My pre-op diet consists of 2-3 shakes a day, and one "real meal." The meal can have up to 4oz lean meat, 1 cup veggies. I also have a list of veggies that are considered "free foods," meaning if I get super hungry I can eat them as long as I don't go over 1000 calories for the day. So far I've been averaging about 800-900 calories.

That's pretty much what my diet is. But I have been seeing that there are many different diets out there that people are doing.

How's it going on the liquid diet?

I started mine yesterday. All liquid for me. I'm doing 3 Nectar shakes per day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner). Also throw in a little strained cream of chicken soup, some water, sugar free hot cocoa and some sugar free jello and well... that's pretty much my life for the next 12.5 days.

I don't have to do any pre-op diet.....just take the mag citrate and clear liquids 2 days before surgery.

Mine is the shake for breakfast and 2 lean meals currently.  At 2 weeks pre-op, I go to all shakes.

I start mine on Monday.  3-4 protein drinks per day for 2 weeks.  That's it!  Well, clear liquids the last day after drinking 3 T Milk of Magnesia at noon.   I'm still unsure about having a 'last meal'.  I wanted to go for a cheesesteak this week for lunch, but have refrained.  Instead I went shopping and bought some new work out clothes!
