I am drinking a 10 oz cup of coffee in the am with a chocolate Premier Protein shake but my surgeon scolded me; saying caffeine can lead to stomach ulcers in bariatric patients, so I started mixing have decaf because he said decaf was ok; "if you must"....... wish I knew for sure...if I don't have a little in the AM to get me going, I drag hard all day, without it...  Its one thing I am being defiant about, with my surgeons advice...  (I was told that decaf still has 10-15% of the caffeine)  I certainly have read good things about coffee too but what difference does it make being a bariatric patient.... I just don't know)

Looks like I average around 80 a day.  I don't worry much about them.  I stay away from bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes.  My carbs are from veggies, dairy and and little bit of fruit, and these kinds of carbs don't seem to affect my loss.

I don't worry much about carbs either, although I am anal about protein and fluids and staying at 800 ish calories. Therefore, not a lot of extra room for carbs. But I have just started adding oatmeal to my diet and a few berries and incorporating a few more veggies which all add some carbs. I don't eat anything white. In looking back at myfitnesspal entries, carbs average about 50-80 each day. But they just aren't my main focus.
