Negative "net carb" wraps... really???

Low carb tortillas are becoming one of my staples.  I love adding more fiber to my diet without going crazy with total carbs, so these work nicely for me.

I saw the label she is talking about, and it is very misleading, as she is quoting it perfectly... but I still think that someone who walks around acting like some kind of expert on life and everything in it should have a little more common sense than to believe it.

"It's scary to me that people won't even listen to logic when it comes to practices that could impact their health, like figuring carbs accurately.  And she's diabetic, so she really needs to be careful with this."

I read this and immediately thought of the woman at work yesterday, who with sincerity told me that people only needed 5 to 7 grams of protein per day because our bodies get all the energy they need from carbs.

And while her body is eating her muscles, I'll continue with my hundred grams per day, thank you very much!

Oh wow.... now that's really scary.

And about the 100 grams of protein per day... wow!  I'm usually around 70 or 80, and I have to try to do that!  Maybe when I get a little further out and can eat a little more that won't be as difficult... I hope.  I would love to see those kinds of numbers!

I think the fact that you are getting that much protein so early out is very admirable! I was still around 60 grams per day at your stage. Good for you!

I've really upped the protein to help with the final weight loss stage. As of this morning I have only 17 pounds left to lose to get to my goal. I had been losing pretty slowly for a few weeks and the up in protein really kicked it back into high gear.

Thanks!  Now if only I could reach those numbers without drinking a protein drink most days... they don't fill me up at all, so I am starting to feel like they are a waste of calories.  Granted, I do get more protein for a smaller amount of calories with the drinks I use... I guess it's a trade off.

17 pounds!  OMG... you are going to be there before you know it.

PS- I remember you telling me last weekend that, if my stall broke, I would probably be obese instead of morbidly obese in a week or so... well, I've got one pound to go to get there!  Could very well be in the next couple of days!

so if you google "negative carb tortillas" you will see several hits on this....including more than one about the company supposedly stating it is a labeling error.

Tell your friend that if it were possible to have a product made from flour with negative carbs....they would not be the only things available....there would be a whole glutton on the market!

Lol!  So true.

I googled it before I posted this thread, so I know exactly what you're talking about.  Still scary that people buy into this.
