I notice a lot of us are having surgery in June.  Why don't we start a Topic here to discuss our fears, happiness, questions (that maybe the veterans can answer for us).  And then after our surgeries encourage each other to work our sleeves.  Just a thought.

What do you guys think?

I was waiting to see when the June sleevers would start posting.  I am scheduled for June12.  I don't have a pre-op diet except for the day or so before.  I want to start changing my eating habits now and drinking my water more, taking the vitamins, exercising, and just be ready.  I just haven't been very successful at changing my eating habits yet.  I've done so much research on the surgery, now I need to redo my research regarding vitamins, eating habits, post-op, etc.  I feel like June 12 will be here before I have everything in line.  I"m a procrastinator so I'm trying to get a head start.  I'm also starting with the 'maybe I don't really need surgery" thoughts but then see my picture in a group and know I am ready.  Looking forward to seeing who else is coming in June.

The hardest part for me is the water.  I don't drink enough water.    I am coming off slowly from "my drug" of choice: Soda.  I am only drinking one can a day with lunch.  I am not taking vitamins yet but think i should stop by the vitimin shoppe and get some multivitimin.

I'm scheduled for June 27th.  I'm excited but get more nervous as time gets closer.  I think I come here at least once a day and search if I have questions. I'm so nervous about having major surgery.  I to am one to procrastinate.  I have to get 10% of my weight off before my pre opt appointment which is June 13th.  I don't feel like I have left myself enough time to do that.  I stopped caffeine about 3 months ago.  I started drinking nothing bu****er last month.  And just a couple a weeks ago started sticking to exercise.  I am up to 2 miles of walking 5 days a week.  I lost a lot the first week but now I seem to be stalled. Sticking to the excersise hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be but sticking to eating right has not been easy!  I think I am totally a stress eater.  I got my pre opt packet in the mail today and have some tests I have to get done EKG, Chest x ray and blood work.  I have to eat a light diet day before surgery and nothing the night of surgery but no pre opt liquid diet.  Although I plan to do one anyway a week or two before I just think its for the better. Thanks for posting this I look forward to seeing who else is gonna be a June sleever.

I am a June sleever too.  June 1st is my date.  I am glad to have found you guys because I was also starting to second guess the procedure and going through with it.  However I am ready for this day to come.  I am super excited to begin my new healthy life!

I'm in!!! I am scheduled for June 11 at the sparkling brand new hospital in Hopewell Twp, NJ. I'm having a weird week food-wise...for example, yesterday I went to a BBQ, and I wasn't in the mood to drink much, which is unlike me with this particular group of friends, and I had no interest in the super-sweet birthday cupcakes. Full disclosure, the gluten-free chocolate cake was totally yummy and I took some home, and I know it's no better than any other dessert, but I just thought it was weird that I was rejecting certain foods and beverages that I usually like, and wondered if on some level I was preparing for surgery without even meaning to.

I am compiling a list of questions for my last major surgeon appointment this Friday. I have: How long after surgery before I can...drive? swim? have sex? drink alcohol? Also, want to ask if I need to go off birth control - he's never mentioned it, but I've seen that on this site. Not sure what else to ask yet. Also bringing my sons (ages 14 and 8) to meet Dr. Fares and be able to ask any questions they might have.

June is coming, everyone!!!

Oh, and by the way, I have a two-week pre-op diet of liquids and vegetables.  NOT looking forward to that, especially since it coincides with my busy concert season (I'm an elementary music teacher.) Have had some moments of doubt, not about surgery itself, but about whether I can do the right things to make it stick, but my family is so incredibly supportive, I feel renewed by their positive energy.

I know every surgeon is different but they said I can not drive for 10 days, no swimming for 30 and no sex for 4 weeks.

Originally June 11th, but I was rescheduled for June 12th. The upside to this is that my last day of solids will be Memorial Day. So HELLO cookouts and beer! lol.

I will be anxious to get back out and enjoy a little bit of the summer. I live in the south so I'll still have some good summer days left when I'm all healed up and out there at the pool :)

I don't have the exact date, but it will be the last week of june.  Probably the 26th.

I am scared, of course!  I doubt my choice everyday.  I come here and read and research, and read, and tell my story, and so on!

My Dr is not asking me to take opti fast before the surgery.  I am still questionning why some ask for it and why others don't?

So I'm in for the support!  Get support and give support!  Gogogo June Sleevers!
