THE JUNE SLEEVERS!
VSG on 06/11/12
"Long, last supper" - ha! Tonight my partner Mike referred to it as the "farewell tour." I'm not binging large quantities or anything, I just had a few restaurants I wanted to visit before the pre-op diet. This past week it was Italian tapas at a local restaurant and crabs at Joe's Crab Shack, and when my boys are back with me in a week I have Indian food and BW3 wings in mind for that week. The other nights I'm eating good food made at home, so I'm not worried about a few final meals out.
Hi everyone! June 4th here! I dont really post much, but I am on here daily, and have been for a long time. It's been a long road for me & I couldn't be more excited to start my new life! I was required to have a few sessions with a therapist, so I feel that has really helped me deal with some of my eating issues. I will continue to see her postop to help with any struggles I may have. I'm also one that isn't required to do a pre op liquid diet; however, I was required to lose 5% of my weight. If I dont make that, I will have to go on liquids.
I'm so excited and am looking very forward to following along with all of you! :)

Hi Becky. You and I have the same sleeve date and we weight about the same amount! MY SLEEVE SISTA!!!
I am every weird I think, my friend had the LapBand, that's how everything started for me, and yesterday she asked me if I am eating everything in sight because my surgery is coming soom. I am doing the opposite, I am stopping eating those favorites now that I know i won't be able to eat after June. So no McDonald's, I stop eating Popeye's chicken, I am slowly stoping the soda. I used to have three bottles a day. Now I am having one and I am hoping to stop the sodas all together before the surgery.
I reasoning for this is, why torture myself eating stuff that I know I wouldn't be able to future?
My doctor do not have a pre-op surgery for me. I am going to go pick up my post-op diet and to speak with the nutritionist and go over the diet and stuff.
JUNE CANNOT GET HERE SOON ENOUGH!!

My date is June 4th and I had to start a low carb pre op diet on May 4th. I actually started doing the low carb thing right after I met with my surgeon back on March 27th and have lost 18lbs because of it.
I have to say that I'm so scared and nervous but I need to get the weight off for my health. Just yesterday I went in for a colonoscopy and had to have 6 polyps removed, the Dr said polyps occur more frequently in obese patients. While I have felt pretty healthy I'm finding through many of the preop tests that I'm not as healthy as I thought I was and the need for the surgery is even greater. It's no longer about losing weight to look better but to lose weight to be healthier and llive longer.

Hi, I feel you. My health is in the crapper and i all because of this extra weight. My period is out of wack, I can't walk to blocks without feeling like I am having a heart attack. My knees and back are killing me. My family health history does not help much. I both my grandmothers died of heart attacks. My father has three stems in his heart he suffers from High Cholesterol. My mother has High blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol among other things. Three of my aunts are diabetics. Really I am a bomb waiting to explode any minute with this family history. I don't have any of these conditions but they are around the corner just waiting for me.
The good thing is that we are taking control of our problems now before we end up in a worse situation.
