I didn't realize VSG could be revised for this other surgery (BPD) I had never heard of BPD. Although I have heard of revising the the gastric bypass or dudonel switch.
I'm so sorry your so sick. :-(

Yes,VSG can be revised to RNY & BPD ( I better make it clear here..BPD is BilioPancreatic Diversion and not Bipolar disorder ) BPD will make me losing weight as much as possible..till I want to stop than I have to go again and shorten the intestine..but noway, I had my hernia..and now still on sick leave..I have to put on my BINDER to support my tummy all the time...except while resting..

Weight lost is not my issue any longer..I knew Im losing all the time..and getting trauma to step on the scale now..hehehehe..straight isnt it..?

That's how I feel after revised from VSG to BPD w/o DS..what ever I ate will go back to bowels..lot's of gas and cramps...even anti biotic I have to take by IV DRIP..no malasorbtion any more..gome through IRON TRANSFUSION & blood transfusion..having ANEMIA..all after BPD...

Also not to be confused with Borderline Personality Disorder. lol Speaking in the world of mental illness that can be worse than Bipolar Disorder. Borderline Personality Disorder was the first thing I thought of when I opened this string. My husband is Schizofrenic so i've done a lot of reading on mental illness.
Yeah I have never heard of BilioPancreatic Diversion WLS before this is definitely the first time.

Look above on the main page of types of Bariatic Surgery or WLS..you can see on the 1st is BilioPancreatic Diversion..some said Duedonal switch but this both are different..BPD on its own or BPD with DS..(duodenal switch ) Haizzz a little complicated using short form..when others switch to mental problems hehehehe...here is WLS my Gal..

Never mine..so now you can go to the main page and start to read more about other form of WLS...beside..Lapband,RNY,VSG there are lots more and FYI VSG can be revised again if it strecth..and the surgeon can make it small again like b4...do u know that...?

Yes I knew that VSG can be revised smaller again but the leak rate is very high when they do that I read. I also knew it can be revised to GP or DS. But today is the first time I learned it can be revised to the surgery you had. (BPD)

I work in mental health here in Canada and that's what I saw too! I thought how could VSG "cause" borderline personality disorder. In my office we abbreviate bipolar as BPAD (A = affective).

Yes that's exactly what was going on in my mind. How did the VSG cause Borderline Personality Disorder. I was so confusted of course until I read it.

So, where are you in the process now? BPD is complete. Now a Hernia repair???
