Goal Weight Poll
Starting weight - 372
Goal weight - originailly 172 - but I decided I really want to be in the "normal" bmi range, so I revised my goal weight to 140...
Gender - f
Age - 37
Height - 5'3"
months out - just over 6 months
Current weight - 247
clothing size - 18-20 all around depending on the clothes, having started at 30/32 I am loving this
Picked the original goal weight cause it would be a nice even 200 lbs lost and I thought that might not even happen...my surgeon was totally on board with that goal, I have yet to inform him that I have bumped that down....since losing 125 in 6 months, I'm really thinking hitting 140 won't be impossible and that gives me some bounceback room without me being too upset about it...

Picked it because that is my ideal, healthy weight for my height. I am sticking to my goal so far. Would be happy at 130 but would like to go to 115 as a buffer for bounce back. The BMI indicator is pretty good, but I read an article that the best way to tell if you are at a healthy weight is to simply calculate your waist to height ratio. Your waist size must be less than half of your height measurement, to determine if you are at increased risk of heart disease or not. Obviously you can be slim everywhere, but the gut, so this is a better way to calculate your risk of heart disease than just by BMI alone. I thought it was an interesting take on the subject, and made total sense.

Starting weight - 232
Goal weight - first it was 160, a normal BMI for my height, then it was 150, then I kept losing and now I am happy where I am - at 137
Gender - F
Age - 57
Height - 5'8"
months out - just over 16 months
Current weight - 137
clothing size - Size 6 pants, M or L tops (kept my D cups but went from 44 to 34 in the band)
Picked the goal weight of 150 cause I spent 8 of 9 years there in my late 20s and early 30s and thought I looked pretty good. I was a size 12 then, even with vanity sizing I can't believe I'm a 6!

Hi Sleeve Sista! We have similar stats!!
Starting Weight- 246 (also my highest weight, although there was a period of time where i avoided the scale and may have been higher - who knows?)
Goal Weight- 145 (mine) 155 (doc's)
Age- 32
Gender- f
Height- 5'5.25"..... large-ish frame
clothing size- size 6 pants, tops S/M
months out- 11 months
My Doc's goal weight for me is basically a normal BMI. I decided I wanted some wiggle room so I made my goal weight 10 pounds lower. I hit my goal and decided parts of me were too boney, so my maintenance range is anything under 150 (my choice). Maintaining really well weight wise... would like to pu**** a little lower, but am still losing inches even though I'm not losing any more weight. Would love to lose an inch off my ASS and pani and thighs, but beggers can't be chosers, right?? Ha!
I think over time my body will find the sweet spot. I'm not having trouble staying at my current weight, per se, so this may be it. For some reason (in my head), I'd like to be a lower weight, but I don't want to be any bonier. I know, I know, that doesn't make any sense. Welcome to my weird head.
Hope this helps!

I picked 130 because I've been that weight a few times in my life and I know I look good. I'll be in a 6/8 and healthy looking. I've been as low as 118 but did NOT look nice so I picked 130. Really I'd be happy with anything in the 130-140 range. 149 puts me at a normal BMI, but I really want some cushion.

Why you picked this goal weight - It's lower than anything I've weighed since I was 11 or 12 years old. I was at 165 for about a week and a half in my 20s. I have mixed feelings about a goal weight. I have a goal way of eating. I will need to accept whatever the intersection is between my food plan and my weight. Worried I will be too boney looking - I was very boney - especially shoulders and up - when I was at 165.
Have you revised your personal goal? Not yet. I'll see how it goes.
