Tomorrow's my Surgery!!! Any advice from post-ops please
One more thing, I also had my husband buy a candle warmer at Wal-Mart ($5.00). I make me a cup of decaf in the morning and put a scoop of vanilla unjury protein in it (after I cool it a bit with an ice cube). I can then sip my coffee for quite awhile without it going cold. It doesn't heat it, just keeps it warm and is the perfect sipping temp. I've also put bouillon broth and chicken soup unjury in a cup and sipped it warm like that too. Sure helps getting the protein in. When I go back to work I'm going to put it on my desk.

Woo hoo! Are you excited!? They only thing I can say is bring chap-stick...lol I was in love with chap-stick after surgery. Remember that it gets better every day. Walk...walk...walk!
My surgery is tomorrow too! Have to be at the hospital by 5:30am, surgery is at 7. Fortunately for us, our apartment complex is literally across the street from the hospital where my surgery is, so I won't have to get up even earlier to drive a fair distance. I cannot believe that I will be post op in 24 hours! I will say a prayer for all of you that you have safe surgeries and speedy recoveries. Please do the same for me. Best of luck!!
Wow lots tomorrow! I am tomorrow am as well. Gotta be there at 8 for 1030 surgery. Good luck!

I am one month post-op today! The things that saved me -- ask for a scopalamine patch before surgery. It will cut down or eliminate post-op nausea. Bring a small bottle of biotene mouthwa**** eliminates the dry mouth after surgery. I second the chapstick. I made a pot of homemade chicken broth before I went in. Felt so good on my baby sleeve! I found I had more discomfort than pain and the pain meds made me feel worse, so I stopped them early. Last -- I got a great novel to read when I got home. Was so absorbed in it that by the time I finished it the next day, I was feeling much much better.
Good luck to all the new sleevers! Keep us posted on your progress...

I just got sleeved on the 15th. I agree with the drinking aspect. I found that the first few days getting the protien in was hard, so I focused on whatever liquid I could get in. Sugarfree popsicles were and are my saving grace. I LOVE the tropical flavor ones. I also found that I really like the chicken flavored unjury for my protien. I found the chocs, and vanillas are so sweet to me that the chicken flavored unjury has been a God send. Good luck to you!!! You will be up and about in no time!
Mine is tomorrow too. Have to be there at 6:15 which sucks because we live and hour away and our 18months olds daycare doesn't open until 6:30. My parents are going to come to the house after he goes to sleep and me and hubby are going to spend the night at a hotel across from the hospital. I hate that I won't see my little guy in the morning.
Out of everything I packed last week, I really only used the chap-stick, tic tacs, flip flops, and loose capris for under my gown (once the catheter is out). They provided all the hygiene stuff, and ask for the pads that take off all the adhesive junk that will be all over your arms and abdomen.
Once I got home I had all my vitamins lined up along with pain meds from hospital and anti-acid medication from hospital. I had stocked up on protein shakes, SF Popsicles, SF jello, crystal light and broth, but have only touched the shakes and crystal light.
