Beginning to see some changes...
VSG on 06/25/12
I'm just over 2 weeks post-op and am excited to be experiencing some changes and victories! First of all, I've met my first goal of losing 25 lbs. I've lost a bit more than the equivalent of my 19 month old son. That's exciting!
Second...I have always been a side/tummy sleeper. I have been sleeping in the reclining chair in our living room for the past two weeks as I wasn't able to get to a lying down position in my own bed without a great deal if pain ( I've had a really strained muscle in my abdomen since surgery). Over the past couple of days I've been able to lie down more comfortably but after a few hours had crazy back pain and would have to move back to the recliner. Well, last night I was finally able to sleep in my bed and actually sleep in my bed without pain but also on my side without pain or discomfort! May be a minor thing to some but it was a huge deal to me and made for a happier and more rested me.
Then, after showering this morning I noticed that my bath towel actually wrapped all the way around me without that big gap that is usually there.
Im excited to be starting to feel better (although I'm still waiting for my energy to return) and to be seeing some of the benefits of my sleeve. :)

Keep up the good work! Have you started excercising yet? How many calories are you consuming daily. I like to compare these kinds of things. I am one week post op, as of yesterday and I am down 12lbs. I know that will slow down but, man I wi**** would continue to go that fast. Anyway, congrats!!!!! Heather

Congrats on your loss thus far, Heather! I have been walking every day but nothing hard core. My doctor hasn't cleared me for any other exercise yet. I'm averaging about 500 calories per day, keeping my protein between 75-80g and drinking at least 64 oz a day. I was losing at least a lb a day for a while bit the last 4 days have only lost 1 lb. I hear you about wishing it would continue at this early, rapid rate. But im trying to be patient and follow the plan. I'm in the pureed stage and have had mostly blended boiled eggs and some cream of wheat. I'm gonna try Greek yogurt for dinner tonight. Good luck to you!
Woohoo! Congrats
