3 weeks out and feeling pretty good
Yesterday was my 3 week "anniversary". I'm on pureed/very soft foods which has been hard as I'm not digesting chicken well and I don't like tuna. Shakes it is!
I have discovered the joys of cottage cheese with pineapple salsa though, or cottage cheese with hummus, or a hard-boiled egg with hummus or Goddess dressing. Those are generally my "meals" in between shakes and as much water as I can manage.
I did do a fresh fruit shopping spree. My body felt horrible and I realized that I hadn't had "fresh" food in, well, 3 weeks. I had a very fresh, organic, local diet before the surgery and I think my body was starting to crash from lack thereof.
I know that the sugar in fruits may slow things down a bit, and I'm not going completely nuts, but I feel sooooo much better having had a couple of plums and some fresh raspberries over the last few days. I'm going to make watermelon and lime juice popsicles, and dry some more fruit for later.
Hopefully it will help me be a bit more regular as well because honestly, Milk of Magnesia is gross, albeit effective.
I had a crazy busy weekend but managed to nap only on Sunday. I'm going to get back on the treadmill this week and hope that next week I'll get the clearance to do some weights or at least some leg lifts.
My doctor assures me that the weight will come off faster and faster over the next few months. I'm just happy to be the lowest I've been in years. It seems almost impossible that more will come off, but I know it will.

Hi!
Yep, cottage cheese is a "base" for many things now. My grocery store sells 4 ounce containers in a 4 pack of cottage cheese. It's plain, no fruit or anything -- they're great.........I make two meals from each one.
You're a bit over a week ahead of me, so I'm not quite sure I can do fresh fruit........but I'd sure like some! I don't crave anything sweet, but I want strong savory flavors. Doing the crazed scientist in the kitchen thing is fun and rewarding -- at least so far LOL
I'm looking at your moving back to exercise -- going back to the gym sounds great. I tried yesterday on the recumbent bike -- BAAAADDD move -- my hernia repair incisions hate me today and that surgery is giving me twinges. Happy for you that you're back exercising. Hope to be able to join you soon!
You have done an amazing job already. Are all those pounds since surgery? I wasn't required to do a pre-op diet. In any case, keep workin' that sleeve -- only three weeks out and already an inspiration! WAY TO GO

Thanks!
Well, I weighed in at 262 on my surgeon's scale the week before my surgery. My pre-op diet was "shake for breakfast, shake for lunch and a sensible dinner" so I'm pretty sure the bulk of that weight came off the week after my surgery.
I'm having fun in the kitchen too! I have a Trader Joe's handy which gives me a ton of interesting options when it comes to seasonings and sauces. We also have a huge international farmer's market where I picked up Tandoori and Tikka paste for curries.
