Recipe for Chili?

Does anyone have a recipe for chilli that isn't too spicy?  I'm thinking kinda like Wendy's Chili.  I've never made chili before and would like something to try that would be close to Wendy's but with a bit more spice to it, not too spicy though.

Thanks in advance!

Don't be afraid to just jump in!  Chili is a very forgiving dish.  Maybe try buying a chili spice mix- all balanced out for you.  There is usually a recipe on the bag to help guide you too.  Here are the basics though:

brown your meat (I use ground turkey or vegen burger- but usually a mix of both)

with the meat add in some chopped onion, garlic, and green pepper, salt, and pepper if you like that

add drained and rinsed beans of your choice- you can buy cans intended for chili

add in tomato product- diced, whole, canned, fresh, whatever you like.  I normally use diced can varieties and to the thickness that you like

seasoning
chili powder
cayenne
perhaps a bit more salt, pepper, and garlic powder if needed

Here is a link for a copycat recipe for Wendy's

I made one not long ago and froze it in serving sizes for a grab and go meal for work. I use chick peas instead of kidney beans, I use onions, mushrooms, green and red peppers, hamburger, can of tomatoes and a package of chili mix it is so easy to make. I also added some steak, Crisp bacon and a bit of sausage. Just because I like flavor and chili is something I crave every now and then. I don't usually eat this, just when the craving hits, best to be prepared. It is probably just as easy to get a bowl or two from wendies.

Other things I have in the freezer for grabbing are thai chicken, green chicken soup, beef and broccoli, chicken soup but usually just mix my chicken with a bit of mayo for work or tuna. I also carry two protein shakes to work where the heat i****ting us now incase I don't want a meal and just stick to fluids do I don't get thirsty for the summer. Egg for breakfast with mayo sometimes other times it is just eating the hard boiled egg. Sometimes cheese for a snack and sf chocolate pudding to kill the chocolate craving.

Whatever you buy, get the low sodium versions for beans, diced tomatoes, etc. I love fire-roasted tomatoes, both diced and crushed. You can adjust the spices to your tastes. I use low sodium or no salt added black beans, just one can. They don't get as mushy as kidney beans and freeze well.

I agree with everyone above but I also like my chili thick so I add tomato paste with mine and use V-8 juice as the tomato base along with a couple of cans of diced tomatoes.

This is a recipe for chilli I used to make before surgery but idk if it is wls friendly or if you could make it that way.  You brown the the meat hamburger or I guess you could use turkey burger.  Drain all greese add a mccormick packet of chilli seasoning.  Pour your meat in a crockpot add to the crock pot two cans of stewed tomatoes throw in some diced up onion, couple of cans of green diced green chilli, and either the biggest can of ranch style beans or 4 small cans.  Not sure on the nutrition facts for the ranch style beans.  My nutritionist said we can have any kind of bean just not pork and beans so idk.  Then just cook on high in the crock pot for 4 go 5 hrs.  Depending on what kind of mccormick chilli packet you get and can of green chilli you get will depend on the spice.

There is a chili recipe on my profile that my husband makes for me, it is lower in carbs and full of flavor and quite mild.  I think you would like it.

I make with or without beans- without to keep the carbs lower. If you canned beans, drain and rinse with water.  I also make with ground round.  Still has flavor but not as fatty at chuck.

You don't need a seasoning packet- too much sodium.  My simplest recipe without any chopping is to add chili powder (more than you may think, adjust as you go along this is where the chili flavor comes from), garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper, diced tomatoes- canned, red pepper flakes.  This is my pantry chili. If I have meat and nothing else, the other items are in the pantry.  I don't measure anything, but use more chili powder than anything else.  Let simmer covered for at least 20 minutes.  Add water for mor moisture if needed- Wendy's is pretty watery.
