I miss this board so much! I love coming on and seeing how everyone is doing.  It's been crazy since surgery.  I moved to Phoenix from Atlanta April 1, had surgery May 4 after taking my father to and from his WWII reunion in Tuscon from NC, came back to PHX and immediately got a new job all within eight weeks! Then started traveling on the road for work immediately.  Crazy times 100!  That's the crazy news.

The great news is, I'm down 45 lbs and it's STILL coming off!  Still haven't told anyone.  It's my secret.  I'm going to see my sister who had WLS next weekend.  She has no idea.  So exciting.  So happy! :)

For all you lurkers wondering whether you should really do this. DO IT! BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE!!  I do not regret going to Mexico. I do not regret spending $8K+, I do not regret this surgery. I do not regret putting my health and myself before everything for a change.  It's been a great journey for me and I know there's lots of paths to cross in the future.  Stay positive, follow the doctors orders, and put yourself first. It's worth it.

When I first told my son that I was doing this, his reaction kinda startled me. I expected him to say "why are you doing this" or "I don't think its a good idea to go to Mexico to have the surgery..too dangerous". He said "Mom, it's about time you started thinking of yourself and not everyone else for a change. Do this for you so you feel better"...WOWOWOW! I have for so many years always put everyone's needs and wants before mine..it's just what I do. "It's about time you did for yourself and not anyone else for a change", he says.

I too have absolutely no regrets about this surgery and going to Mexico to have it done. Yes, I went to the most dangerous city in Mexico (Juarez) to have this done but I felt as safe there as I would have in my own home and would do it again without a 2nd thought. Yes, 2nd thoughts are a normal process when making this decision but I have not and will never look back on this as a bad decision. It has saved my life and my husband, son and daughter in law are happy that I did it...so am I...
