So I woke up in hospital this morning( I don't recall recovery) to find out there was a technical fuckup during sy surgery and they changed over to a vertical incision , I'm not sleeved and I have 1/3 of my stomach missing - my surgeon is now saying he's not sure if he can do a sleeve because of the bit that's been cut out, he rang my husband at he time to see if he should do Rny which thankfully my husband said ask her when she's conscious, unfortunately when the surgeon was here this morning I was still pretty out of it so I really don't even fully understand what's happened but I will be here 5-7 days instead of 1-2 and I have more tubes coming out of me than there are cords behind our entertainment centre.
I'm in a truckload of pain, lap incisions plus the huge vertical.

Sorry about the whine guys I just needed to vent.

Band placed April '08 four years of hell-Band removed may '12~Non VSG July 26 '12. All went to hell~RNY on the 19th october '12~Leak & infection 26th october '12 ~infection 24th November '12, 2 weeks hospital~infection 25th dec '12 4 days ~30/5/13 hernia repair 4 days~hw120/sw/115/gw/58kg

Whoa that really sucks! I'm so sorry that happened to you and really glad that you made it through ok - minus the pain. Good luck with the next steps. I'll keep sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

OMG! Girl!! FIrst hugs to you!!! I am soooooo sorry. What in the world could have caused that messup???? That isn't right! Your surgeon and the hospital better take extra extra care of you and get this right! I am here if you need to talk. I can only imagine the emotions you must be feeling right now.

Praying for you and hope this gets resolved quickly.

thankfully the nurses are being wonderful and I know my bills been cleared I'm just really scared that I won't be able to get the sleeve in the future- I need to heal now, which in itself ****** my off because I had to wait 3 months after my band was out to heal to avoid complications!!

I have heard they can re-sleeve in some cases. I dont know much about it, so hopefully they can sleeve you the correct way when you heal. I am very sorry you have had this happen. Please keep us updated!!
