What would YOU like to hear in a support group presentation?
I would tell people that it is still very much a head game-at least for me it is. If weight gain is about smothering pain, and for some like me it is, then weight loss is about becoming 100% present and conscious about what goes into your mouth. And for people who used food to help with denial, being conscious is not always easily done. The surgery helps for sure initially and they should use that time to maximize weight loss before it gets easier to eat more. They should join a support group and a tracking program, they should have access to veterens like we do here on OH. I guess ultimatly what you will say will be about your unique experiences and maybe our success and failures are related to why we gained weight in the first place, and so it is unique to us all.
I also found that there was a lot of variation between surgeons and hospitals on diet plans going forward. It was here on OH that I learned about having 100 g protein,
