Yes, I want to scream it out, PLEASE BLOCK ME if you hate my point of view.  Like seriously, block, block, block.  I am OK with it.  I don't know why people continue to think that I am preaching at them.  If they want to eat nails, that's their problem.  I won my own personal war, and I only want to share how I did it.  I want others to win theirs, how they do it, well that's their decisions.  All I want to do is give tools to those that need them and support to those that ask.  Sometimes, like today, I just get ticked off.  That is unusual for me, but today I am riding my broomstick, so watch out world.

Elina_7 Ok I have posted a few times and am new to this forum but I like your seemingly to the point, take it or leave it attitude. So perhaps this will irk you or perhaps you can help. I am scheduled to have VSG in Oct. I am struggling to put together a weekly meal plan for the full liquid diet (wks 1&2)and soft and moist food diet(wks3-6). I really need to pre-plan so I stick to it and because of a very hectic life. I do not tolerate milk well although I do eat cheeses. Since so many of the protein shakes I have tried are very "milky" I am having a difficult time finding that extra thing you can add to bump up my protein. I have searched for sample menu for post surgery with no luck on several internet sites. Are you aware of anywhere I can print out some menus? I have checked out bariatric buddies however it is really the first two stages I am most concerned about. I know for me this will set the ground work for my success. Or perhaps you can suggest a few super protein helpers that I can attempt. Any suggestions are appreciated....I'll take them from anyone that has them. BTW that is an incredible body you are walking around with Congrats. Although I am quite a bit older than you appear I plan on being as successful, however I fear I will have a lot of saggy baggies to deal with. Looking forward to the journey.

Although I am not familiar with a written program for the first six weeks, I can share with you some hopefully useful information.  In the very beginning, first two weeks or so, it is all about getting enough liquid in to stay hydrated.  If you don't like the milky consistency of many protein shakes, you might want to look at things like Pro to Go, or other protein that is fruity rather than milky.  I would concentrate mostly on drinking these and nothing else.  Then, two weeks later, you want to start introducing soft foods.  Can you handle cottage cheese and ricotta cheese?  I would start with those if you can.  Also, remember to continue your protein shakes as that is still where you are going to get most of your protein from.  You can make things like my soup (on my profile) and blend it, or you can make soft white fish and eat about 1/4 cup or less, taking tiny, tiny bites and chewing it all down.  At this stage, concentrate on protein that is soft and easy to consume.  But early out, it is about finding the right shake for you and getting most of your protein from that.  The actual eating is done in baby food amounts and only a few times a day, so that is not where most of your nutrition really comes from.  Slowly, very very slowly, you transition into getting your protein form regular foods.  I know this is not the complete answer for you, but maybe you can work with your nutritionist to set a full diet.

First I must say I'm glad you put this post up.

So I really want to type out a great long response to this .... and you know what?  I just don't have the energy.  Why don't I have that energy?  Because everything I could possibly say has been said on this board over and over and over again.  And without trying to hijack your thread (which I will never do!!) -- let me say that's why I don't even post that much.  There's PLENTY here to read and learn from.

And (okay, maybe a tiny hijack here) -- my pet peeve is the constant over-and-over again same questions that nobody seems to want to research on their own.  I read this board for MONTHS before I ever posted a comment.  The information is here.  Or the "it's been 3 hours since I lost any weight; am I in a stall??"    God help me!

In a nutshell, I don't blame you for putting this on here.  While I can certainly see both sides of this situation, I must tell you your posts have been so helpful and kind to everybody.  In fact, most of the time I find myself wondering how you (and a number of other folks) continue to type in all the same information like it's new.  Sadly, I do not have the patience for that -- really wish I did though.

Remember, folks, this is a public internet forum.  Again, while I agree to some point that everybody has to find their own way, I think if you put something out there, you have to be prepared for the responses you get.  (kinda like I'm getting prepared from this one)

Okay, this ended up longer than I planned.....

May I ask you honestly?  What is the other side?  I just don't get it.  You want to eat carbs, eat carbs.  You want to hear my opinion of you eating carbs, ask me, you don't want to hear it, don't ask or block my advice to others.  What is the other side?  Sorry, I am on a rant today.

My husband is smirking reading my posts behind my shoulder.  I bet he'll be really nice to me today.  :)  He can see I am worked up.  He especailly liked the black leather jacket and Harley idea.

Truly, I meant it in terms of if somebody wants to do something off-plan.  That's really all by "both sides."   Not necessarily about the no carbs/all carbs, etc.  But of course, my difference is that I don't type up a post looking for justification or kudos or anything if I've done something that I think is off plan in any way.  So, yeah, I'm totally with you.

I was actually cleaning up some lunch dishes thinking about this and wondering if my post was clear.  Maybe it wasn't my best one.

You're kind of scaring me today (NOT!!)   so let me clarify -- have I mentioned that I'm totally with you???  haha

Since it is a perfect early autumn day here, a ride on a Harley sounds delightful.  Instead, I'm going into someone's basement to do some line dancing instead.  Hope you enjoy your day!!

I totally get it, I am just continuing my rant. :) Big hugs. I know I can get pretty scary sometimes. Those people that know me on here in real life must be getting a real chuckle out this post today. The biker dog collar does clash a bit with my Chanel purse. :)
