I jus****ched the show and all I can say is WOW! She is great for putting it out there like she did! And cuddos to Dr. Oz for not saying that it was the easy way out and that we still have to work at things!

Just finished watching it. Was great and hope it opens a lot more people to the surgery.

He did a huge segment a while ago on lap band surgery. He is very open to WLS.  His lap band segment had a lot to do with me going through with VSG.  He looked into the camera and said that many people refuse to do this because they think it means that they are a failure and it is not true. I realized at that moment that my judgement was the reason that I refused to consider it an option.  Right after that show, I signed up for a seminar assuming that I was interested in lap band. My surgeon sold me on VSG at that seminar, and I had surgery one month later.

Some people were critical that his last show was only about lap band, but those people don't get that anything that encourages people to think outside of the box and educate themselves is a good thing.

I appreciated that he spoke of it with respect, and he showed the visual. I hope he does a show dedicated to all wls, and shows the differences. It would also help our friends and family *****ally don't know what it's all about, to get it from someone they trust.
Since everything Dr Oz talks about, shows, etc becomes golden, how much you want to bet the dr's are going to start having an overflow of people at their seminars now? Should be interesting.

I always loved Lisa L, and now I love her hubby too! Cute couple.

Loved the show!  It was my first time seeing Dr. Oz, so it was pretty entertaining.  I loved Lisa L.  She was awesome, spoke so honestly, and is just a great spokeswoman for the sleeve.  She ROCKS.

I haven't seen a video post yet for the episode, but I was nosing around Dr. Oz's website and saw they have a link to an article on their homepage called "guide to bariatric surgery".

The good news is, it lists the sleeve FIRST.  The bad news is, the stats look terribly outdated.

"Studies have shown that patients lose 45-50% of excess weight after this procedure. The complication rate is 8% with a mortality rate of 0.19%
"

45- 50% of excess weight??  An 8% complication rate????  Whaaaaaat?

We need to get their content writer some updated figures.   I'll try to figure out who to write to about this tomorrow...

Dr. Oz really handled this interview well, was very respectful and realistic.  I'm a new fan.  :)

I liked how he said that WLS is the most under utilized surgery in the US
