YUMMY PROTEIN
I'm 5 months out and have been drinking protein shakes for awhile and tried dozens of different kinds. I prefer Premier vanilla, strawberry or chocolate (buy online or at Sam's clubs) as a ready to drink shake because they're thinner than most and don't have the gritty taste. They're 30gms protein and 160 calories. I also used Unjury unflavored and chicken flavored a lot during my liquid diet and post op. They dissolve well in soups and as a chicken broth. I now use the Unjury chocolate splendor or vanilla powder in my coffee as a boost to my daily protein. I just ordered two more containers this morning. Unjury is 20gms protein in 100 calories for the flavored types or 80 calories for the unflavored. I could not drink the Syntrax's or the body fortress or the Vi - none of those went down well for me and made me gag. I tried lots of different types from the grocery stores and wal-mart but didn't care for those either. You just have to search until you find one you like. I finally found a protein shake that I actually think tastes pretty good. It's Labrada Lean Body strawberries and cream. I'm going to ask my doctor about it today to make sure it's the "good" protein. I've also heard the cookies and cream and banana shake are really good, too.

If you like coffee or iced coffee try Click. I have got sick from most all shakes. But this one is great you can blend it for a frozen coffee, iced coffee, or hot. My fav is one scoop of mocha Click, one scoop of vanilla protein, tbls of sugar free pumpkin spice creamer(u get it a walmart) 8oz of water or skim milk, shake it in your blender cup then pour it over 4 or 5 pieces of ice and enjoy! Yummy! I was so sad when I couldn't have pumpkin spice at Sta***cks. After this I have it at home every morning. As a matter of fact I seen a link to the right for it today. Hope you find something to fit your taste.

I did not care for the click mocha- very strong to me, but maybe as above poster did, if I mix it with vanilla. Otherwise, once cleared for coffee (acid) you can mix a decaf single serving packet of coffee with the vanilla or chocolate protein of your choice.
Its funny how we all have such different tastes, you really have to try samples- I have hated some that came highly recommended. You need to find one or two you can tolerate, get some protein hot chocolate from healthwise , and some protein chicken broth (unjury or healthwise). It will get you through the first three weeks, and then you can rely on your favorite flavor once a day to get your protein up.'
I really disliked all syntrax nectars and isopures. I have a very strong sense of smell, so anything mediciny gags me. My very picky eater boys both liked my matrix mint cookie...that is my favorite. I use water of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. No gritty at all.
