pre op yikes!
Did you get a diet plan from the surgeon? My pre-op was 2 weeks, it consisted of 3 protein shakes daily, they couldn't be above 150 calories each, and they had to be more than 15g of protein each. I could have 1 light meal for dinner (a lean cusine, or 3 oz lean meat and small veggie serving), also 64oz of water per day, at least. I will admit, I had a hard time, and would pick on chicken breast during the day whenever I felt like I needed to; not a ton, just an ounce or two here or there. The day before surgery it was only protein shakes (4 of them) and liquids, nothing else.
Good luck!
Mine was very similar: three protein shakes (Unjury Chicken Soup saved my sanity) and then a small meal consisting of 4oz lean chicken, fish, turkey or tofu; 1c non-starchy vegs (I had raw baby spinach almost every day); 1/2c whole grain starch (brown rice, quinoa or sweet potato). Day before was clear liquids (including protein shakes) when and as I desired until midnight.
