Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting. AGH!
Well, all of my pre-op testing is done. My pcp wouldn't mail the letter required for my insurance until it was back, and she sent me a message saying she'd send the letter to my surgeon's office tomorrow. I wrote back and politely requested she do it today. I have a possible surgery date of Dec. 27 but that's a long shot already, so I can use all the time I can get on that front.
This is driving me crazy. I just want a for-sure date so I can plan my life. At this point my kids may be eating frozen pizza for Christmas dinner since I may or may not be on the liquid pre-op diet.
On the plus side, I went to the gym today and had a great workout.
I need to go DO something before I go crazy.
Thanks for listening. :)
Just curious.... did they say what they meant by "not ready"? Was it a pre-op weight loss, behavior changes, etc? Did they give you details?

It's good you are being proactive...but personally I would be thoroughly pissed off if I thought I had to "prove" something to my doctor. Enough to take my business elsewhere.

Well, now I'm annoyed. I just got a final test result, lipids, and they are elevated. My guess is they are elevated because I had coffee that morning (I did not realize it was supposed to be fasting), and I TOLD the lab that and they insisted it would be fine. But the biggest bummer is that the PA I saw because my PCP is on indefinite family leave did not leave a note for her supervising MD to do a letter, and she apparently did not leave a letter for her assistant to fax tomorrow as she indicated she would do, and she won't be bac****il Monday.
I should just accept that this is not going to happen next week and enjoy Christmas. But I swear, for THIS to be the hold up is the most freaking annoying thing EVER. How hard is it to determine that I am healthy enough for surgery and that weight loss surgery would improve my health and fax a letter to my surgeon's office stating that??
