Avoiding the SKIN issues
I follow a few people on Youtube, and they swear by running. Something about running is supposed to tighten the skin. I also think that weight training works. Anything to have the lowest body fat % you can have, so the skin isn't "weighed down" by the fat underneath. Age is a factor (the younger you are the better, since skin elasticity is best when you're young).
I don't expect a miracle, and I can't afford plastic surgery. So I'll be doing all of these "wive's tales" mentioned above.

People have mentioned dry brushing, but what people do not mention and many have not tried it is bathing with a scrub pad... not SOS or the metal ones... but rather a 3M acrylic pad meant for cleaning teflon cookware. Use upward strokes toward your heart helps venous flow return as well as Lymphatic drainage which basically is responsible for carrying your waste products from cell breakdown (in weight loss) to be eliminated. I am a heavyweight, I had severe scarring and many stretch marks. Since I have started this weight loss journey, I am preparing and doing research into writing my own book using myself as the 'grand experiment' but there are many other people who have gladly volunteered to be subjects in the study. I know I will need plastic surgery on my legs (more than likely as I have Bi-lateral Primary Lymphedema) but I am giving myself the best options I can towards reducing the amounts of PS required. I have noticed a marked decrease in the appearance of stretch marks... and yes, they do fade... but this is not fading, there is no shiny line anymore showing where they were previously! I am not ready to open this research save for this post and say this is fact as this is too soon and I am the only one with these results as yet, I have 18 other people who have all agreed to do the same nutritional dietary measures, as well as 'cosmetic' measures to see if this can reduce some of the post weight loss issues. We all have surgery in common, but we all have different goals, we are all different sizes and of course come from different backgrounds and ethnicities. I have my group already set up. It is different using a scrub pad at first (a little rough), but now I find I feel rejuvenated. I use no creams save for the Body Shops Body Butter (Cocoa Shea Butter), I never wear makeup, perfumes, etc.
I also have read that skin will not reduce, this in fact is not true... it will given the correct conditions... amd here they are, in order for the skin to bind back to the muscle all fat must be gone... damn near impossible... no matter how much you exercise, take care of your epidermis, and the cells in the dermis and hypodermis should follow suit (to a limit, I want to know what that limit is, and how we can best have success reaching this limit).
Good luck, I am interested in hearing more about this from you.
Danielle
