My Doctor recommended 4 to 6 weeks for recovery. However, since I've been lurking on this site, I've noticed people have been taking less & some more. What was your experience?

It will depend on the type of job you have and your recovery.  I went back to work a week after surgery.  I have a desk job and was able to get in 64 oz of fluid in within a few days.  I was tired for the 1st week back, but nothing unbearable.

My doctor ssuggested a week or two. I had surgery last Thursday and will return to work on Monday. With weekends it is 10 days. I have a desk job, nothing physical. I probably could have went back on today.

Oh wow! So it must not be that bad if one can return back to work within a week or two. Thanks for the advice. It's all nerve wrecking as I'm actually 8 days away from surgery.

I returned after 7 days. Felt great to be back and on schedule.

I took 5 weeks and I am glad I was able to. I got used to my eating and I could nap when I needed to. That 3 week energy slump was very real for me. Everyone is different but was really glad for the time off!

2 to 3 weeks seems to be the average I see...thank you all for the advice.

I took just over 4 weeks.  Physically, I felt I could have gone back to work a week or 2 earlier, but I think the extra time helped me mentally get ready for going back to my regular life.

I guess it just depends on the person.  You might find you want to go back earlier.

I did find once I got back to work, on a regular schedule, it was easier for me, food-wise.  I got into a routine and find it a lot easier to eat on schedule...and to get my fluids in.
