At first it sucks! My ramp button is busted right now. It takes a few weeks to get used to. Once you get used to it it's hard to not go without it. I sleep great now! Good luck!!

i tried it twice yesterday and didnt last 60 seconds either time, pulling it off in complete panic.

This morning before work I tried it again with the ramp again and was able to tolerate it for 15 minutes before having to leave for work.  it  ramped from 5.0 to 9.8 by the time I took it off, and my max is set for 10.   I do feel less anxiety now, i'm okay  :)

I have been on my CPAP for 2-1/2 years.  I cried when I found out I'd have to use it.  I was afraid my husband would make fun of me with the mask on ( I actually thought about gluing rhinestones and feathers on it lol).

It is very strange in the beginning.  Try not to fight it, think of it as something that may save your life.  If you are using the full mask it may seem too constricting.  I had the full mask the night of my study but i now use the Swift FX nasal pillows.  It is like two little plugs that go in your nostrils. Once you get used to it you won't know how you slept without it.  Another helpful hint is if you have a headboard where you can wrap the long hose up and over it helps with not feeling like the hose is dragging down off the side of the bed.  Also if you have a humidifier option, that will also make you feel more comfortable.  Definitely try the ramp button in the beginning.  Once you get used to it, it will literally lull you to sleep.  I used to get recurring sinus infections all the time.  Now that I am using the CPAP I have only had two minor colds in the last two years.  It keeps my nasal passages moist due to the humidifier, especially in the winter.   Good luck!!

thanks, i'm actually doing okay with it.  The guy from the CPAP company didnt tell me about the C-flex feature, and I tell you.. that's what has made it tolerable for me.  i'm so relieved.
