VSG surgery, taking the easy way out? I think it is, and darn grateful for it!
VSG December 2011
Choose gratitude.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23
I'm trying to think of a moment where I thought this was easier than all of the times I've lost weight in the past. I can't think of any. This has not been easy for me. It's been frustrating and hard and annoying. Fingers getting pointed at me for having done "something" to slow the weight loss. Pointing fingers at myself. Eating perfectly and gaining 2 lbs for it. Eating like crap and losing 2 lbs only to gain 3 lbs few days later. Having to log a 1lb or less weight loss for more months than I care to think about. Still in the losing phase after all these months only to fully recognize that what I am eating/drinking/doing now probably won't change when I finally make it to goal.
These types of posts frustrate me. To see people who have had WLS post things like this makes me recognize that even many here just don't get that this is a journey - and NOT an easy one.
But, there are enough people here that agree with you, that I'm sure I'm a minority in this.
Yikes, I think you missed my point. I am not saying it is just plain old easy. I am saying it is a lot easier than not having surgery. If you consider where you are right now to where you think you likely would have been at this point without surgery, that is the easy I am talking about. I sooooo get the frustration with bouncing around pounds, head hunger, yadda yadda yadda and it was not my intent to diminish the difficult journey we all are on!

I am not even 3 weeks post op..Still on full liquids, and about to start pureed foods ...for 3 weeks...To anyone who implies that I took the easy way,,I tell them that it take a very dedicated person to go 5 weeks without food...many people could not do the liquid pre op or post op diet my Dr requires.
I also tell them that I am not lazy..I just got smart...Why use a screwdriver when you can you a power drill?
I dont think this works for everyone. I have one friend who has not been successful with her sleeve..But smart people use their tools wisely. Buying tools will not get your project done...using them, efficiently and wisely will!
Best of luck to everyone!
