I like spicy food and I like strong asian flavors so I added a bit more sesame oil, soy sauce than the recipe called for. I also added sriracha sauce and kimchee base.

Crack Slaw

1 lb lean ground beef
5 or 6 green onions, sliced
half a large head of cabbage, shredded (about 4-5 cups)
salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder to taste
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
a few splashes of seasoned rice wine vinegar (I used about a teaspoon)

Brown the beef in a nonstick pan with onion powder and garlic powder. Drain off the fat and remove the beef to a bowl.

Put the sesame oil in the pan and add the green onions and cabbage. Cook and stir over medium heat until cabbage is wilted and tender. Season the cabbage with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and vinegar. Add the beef and stir. Heat through and serve.

I don't eat meat, but I looooove cabbage, and this recipe sure sounds good. Thanks, Keith!

Thanks for sharing that recipe, Keith.  Since I was sleeved my husband has expressed an interest in eating better, so this is definitely one I could make with both of us in mind.

This recipe comes out very salty which to me means it has a lot of sodium so if your husband is trying to keep his BP down, do not salt the meat, just use the soy sauce that is called for and do not add any extra. You could also use turkey if you want to be low fat.

Oh, this looks great!  I make a southwestern-inspired slaw with serrano peppers, lime juice, and cilantro.  I think I'll love this - thanks, Keith!
