I have an appointment with my surgeon and wanted to create a list of questions for him.  I have some questions ready but wanted to see if there were any questions you wished you could have asked prior to you pre op appointment.  I'm looking for more of the non typical questions.  Like if it is possible for me to get a video of the surgery?  or Do you use catheters on your patients?

I'd want to know if there was a pre-op liquid diet that I'd have to be on. My own surgeon only required a 2-day liquid diet but I've read from TONS of people on this forum of surgeons wanting them to do two WEEKS of liquids!

Surgery: Thursday,  December 6 at Wellstar Kennestone in Marietta, GA

HW (July): 243      3 days before surgery:  235   Current: 166

(I can't figure out how to control this ticker)

I am one of the luck two week liquid dieters!!!  I just finished my first week, today is the first day of week two.  One positive note about this is that I get full very fast.  After drinking about 16 oz I am full.  It does not last a long time but gets me from meal to meal.

While I'm pre-op and don't have any suggestions for non-typical questions, I have seen videos of the surgery online. I put one of them in a blog post about a week ago too if you want to see it. I warn you tough, it cannot be "unseen!"  I think Dr. Cirangle was the surgeon and from what I hear he's pretty good!
