Since my VSG I have been pretty much trying to stick to my guns about eating animal proteins. My daughter came home the other day raving about these burgers a friend of hers made for her. I brushed it off until we were at the grocery store the other day and she asked me to get some for her. I just had a bit, they are amazing and here are the stats:

1 Burger Has:

120 Calories

7g Carbs (3 are fiber) (2 g sugar)

10 g protein

If you cook one up, add a smidgeon of low sugar pizza sauce and some 2% mozzerella (or full fat if you are amping up your fat burn) on 1/2 a italian light flat out wrap. Pizza Craving Satisfied. For that matter you could put mushroom, onion, etc. and have a pizza.

I also picked up a box of their Grillers Prime Burgers:

170 calories

4g Carbs (2 fiber, 0 sugar)

17g of protein

Can't wait to try these.

The Grillers Chik'n burgers have:

80 calories

3g fat

7g carbs (5 fiber, 0 sugar)

9g protein

I will be looking a their other products as well.

Me, too.  Never again!  A complete waste of money and available calories because I wouldn't drown their taste in catsup.

I do like the MorningStar Original Grillers though and have them on most of my meatless days.  I like to melt a Laughing Cow RF French Onion wedge on top of the burger.  Yummy, and helps it not to be too dry and therefore hard to eat.

WORD OF CAUTION:  don't overnuke the veggie burgers.  Microwave them too long, and you've got a hockey puck.

How is the texture? because since surgery I no longer can eat hamburger patties or turkey burger patties. My stomach doesn't tolerate them AT ALL! I hurt every single time! So basically I have given up cheeseburgers for life. It's kind of a soft consistency right? I remember eating Boca burgers while I was younger and dieting and they weren't too bad..I do not like them anymore. But  maybe I will have to pick up some Morning Star stuff.

Firm but not hard. I wouldn't say soft. Boca Burgers are soft. These are much more like a burger without the meat crumbling.

As for your burger problem, are you chewing them well enough? I know when I don't chew meat well enough it hurts.
