Cooking Corner Q&A
I didn't come up with anything good this week for the Cooking Corner although I did make some really good Stuff Pablano Peppers one night this week. So I am opening up the floor for questions and I will do my best to answer it myself or find you an answer. So lets hear your cooking/food/kitchen questions.
I will see if I can find a better answer.
Pablano Peppers...Tell more! Sounds delish!
My question is...do you know of any low sugar bar-b-q sauce? Or a recipe? I love to slow cook meat and bbq sauce just makes it easy. I found a low fat and less calories variety but sugar is still a main ingredient.
Also, I'm looking into a new blender. What's your favorite or what do you recommend?
I just picked up some Walden Farms BBQ sauce. I haven't tasted it yet. I have heard mixed views on their products so I am cautiously optimistic. I will look up some low carb BBQ sauce recipes and post them. I know there is low carb ketchup so should be doable with some Splenda. I make a BBQ mop without sugar I could find a way to thicken it with some drippings and almond flour might work well.
I have a magic bullet that I use a lot more than I thought I would. I wish I had purchased the 1500 watt Ninja which is a pretty cool blender. If money is not a concern you can't go wrong with a VitaMix.
Thanks Keith! I just had a yummy protein shake made in my new Ninja! It's only an 1100 watt but it blended the ice so well I thought I was having a milk shake!
Love your posts!
I'm not keith, but you could try mixing lower sugar ketchup, Heinz makes one, with a little sugar free maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, mustard and Worcester sauce if you don't mind using things with artificial sugar.
Just play around with the amounts till it tastes right to you. You won't need much of the maple syrup, mustard, vinegar or worcester, just enough to spice it up a bit. You could put some dehydrated onion in there too.
