NSV, Scale Fail, and a lot of photo whoring :)

I really wanted to stay on plan the entire time except for a couple of glasses of wine (two friends are sommeliers), but there were some cir****tances and a lot more justifications that prevented me from doing that 100%.  I would say that 85% of my meals were on plan, and the other 15% included a couple glasses of wine & a few bites of desserts spread throughout the 5 days I was gone.  I'm not thrilled with myself for a variety of reasons including a 1 pound gain, but I'm not beating myself up.  My NSV is that I was actually able to just have 2ish bites of desserts and a glass of wine when out with friends instead of eating an entire dessert & a bottle of wine by myself.  I had a lot more stopping power than I've ever had before, so that was a nice bonus.  I woke up every morning and had a protein shake, and I walked everywhere that I could.  I hate that I feel like I wasted nearly a week, but I've been back on plan 100% since I got home and I'm feeling more dedicated than ever.

A couple of NSVs - I felt beautiful.  I haven't felt beautiful in such a long time that it kind of amazed me to want to be in photos, to be able to take a compliment gracefully, to feel truly confident in my own skin (even if some of that confidence was provided by Spanx).  I felt tiny in the airplane.  I can randomly buy size small dresses & tops.  Probably vanity sizing, but I'll take it.  I LOVED shopping in actual stores with my friend and taking photos in dressing rooms or at the stores acting like a goofball.

Feel free to give me a talking to.  I'm sure that I deserve it, and I'm ready to take my medicine.  Here are some photos for my trip since I promised Shagdoll I'd post some :)

Those are oranges in our mouths :)

Heck gurl, I am not going to tell you anything negative.  We are human & I wish I could come back from a trip with a 1 pound gain.  You will lose that in a day or 2.  It's probably jus****er retention from the alcohol.  That's what gets me most of the time.

You are just gorgeous ... I MEAN GORGEOUS!!!!  You should feel sexy because you are!  I love how your personality is showing thru in these pics.  I just love it when we can all be silly once in a while.  Life is too short to be so serious.  I am the biggest kid ever & it helps keep my mind young.

Thank you for sharing your fabulous pics ... keep 'em comin'!!!

I hope I lose it quickly, but I'll keep on keeping on regardless.  At least it was really good wine and really good desserts :)  My friends and I all have theatre backgrounds, so when we get together the shenanigans are endlessly entertaining.  I really had a wonderful time getting to just be a slightly irresponsible adult.  I'm happy to be home with my hubs & beautiful baby girl, though.

BTW, I bet when people are around you they feel like they are basking in sunshine.  You are one of the kindest, most positive, and lovely women I've ever "met" :)

WTH are you doing to me Ms. Ravenbrown, bringing me to tears on a Monday morning??  I never see myself as someone worthy & I know I need to switch that up.  I've got my kids telling me I am beautiful everyday & how I am the best mommy ever (how would they that know though, lol)

It's fun to let loose and be that slightly irresponsible adult.  Heck, we can only survive that way!  Don't get me wrong, when my kids aren't around I am sad as hell but those few moments alone where I can act like a kid is priceless & I don't take it for granted.

I just adore you gurl!!!

Your kids know.  Trust me.  I always knew I had the best mom, and even though teenage-hood was rough on both of us, I always knew.  You are beautiful and so much more than worthy.

I did!  Thank you so much.  I feel younger than I have in awhile, much younger than I felt in my 20s even married with a toddler :)

First of all, you look absolutely gorgeous. Second, good for you for getting back on track right away. That's the way to do it. We all have our moments. The important thing is to learn from each experience and develop some strategies to help next time there are challenges, because you know there will be! Glad you had a wonderful time with good friends. One of life's greatest joys.

You're totally right!  I've been working on strategies, and it has gotten better.  I didn't go off the deep end, which I would have done in the past.  The main thing is not going too long before eating bc while I don't really get hungry, my will power/whatever isn't nearly as strong and the carbs want to creep in.  Thank you!

Sooooo sexy! Don't beat yourself up. You aren't in denial, you aren't making excuses, and you aren't looking for pity. You had a goal to stay 100% on track, it didn't happen (though you did well) and now it sounds like you're right back on track! That's the important part. I think most people that get the tough love aren't holding themselves accountable and other posters are just trying to make them see that.... you are doing great!
