Pre op diet

I had to do nothing but 5 opti fast shakes a day for 14 days. It was miserable, and I cheated with a single bite here and there, but that only made it worse. I felt like I was being reminded of what I was missing.  I lost 21 pounds.

My plan will be 2 weeks before 3 protien shakes and 3 ounces of lean meat for a dinner. I'm not there yet, but since it serves a serious health purpose I do plan on sticking to it strictly. We'll see when it happens how my resolve will be ;)

Today is the first day of my two week pre-op diet and I haven't done so well.  The plan calls for 3 protein drinks a day and two small meals of 350 calories or less.  I had one shake and 1 meal of 400 calories and one of 500 calories.  Calorie wise I am below the around 1200 that the plan cause for but I ate more solid food than I am suppose to.  I'm going to have to do better tomorrow.

I had no pre op diet at all... Normal eating until 10 p.m. the night before the surgery then liquids only until 3 hours before surgery and then nothing. No, I didn't cheat!!! LOL!!! Had a great dinner the night before.

Results... I did lose about 14 lbs pre op but just by watching what I ate and that over a few months. I wasn't dieting as such. Then since surgery I have lost about 64 lbs now. I am pretty thrilled. About another 20-25 lbs to go until I get to that magic number called 'goal' which I might revise depending on how I look and feel but gotta get there... it's like an obsession... even if it is for one day, I want to see that number on the scale...

I had a 2 week restricted diet prior to surgery. Protein shake for breakfast and lunch, and a sensible dinner consisting of 4oz lean protein and vegetables. I was also allowed to have 2-3 protein bars a day as snacks. I believe I did cheat 1 or 2 days but only in the first week. I wanted to make sure my liver was shrinking so I could have the surgery. It was hard the first 2 days, it was like going into withdrawal but after the 2nd day, I was fine. I believe I lost 10 pounds during that period.
