You need to change your name from summergirl86 to busygirl86.

Wow that is great. Don't be embarrassed because you look good enough to model. That's fantastic!

Reading this thread makes me realize that I don't really do anything for me lately.  I feel like I'm always rushing around, doing stuff for other people, worrying about doing things for other people, worrying about how to make my husband happy etc etc etc.

I need a damn vacation is what I need.  The only thing I can think of that I did for me this week is bought a new pair of sandals, two new jersey dresses on clearance, and I'm seeing the foot doctor because since losing 70lbs, my feet are a damn mess!!

Maybe next week I'll do something for me lol

band to sleeve revision and loving life!

You do you, and I'll do me

Don't wait until next week to do something for you. You need to do something for you every day. Whether it is exercise, food, health, personal, relaxation, entertainment, you need to spend some time on you.

I am seriously getting addicted to my exercise routine, or maybe it's just the new trainer.  :)  I am sore all over and I am really liking the results of my new class.  The guy is a master of finding my weakness and pushing me to overcome them.  He singled me out this week to teach me TRX moves that he wants me to do on my own on those days when we don't have class.  He told me that I need more upper body strength so I am doing push ups and pull ups like I'm in the army.  I also thought that my core is strong enough, but he disagrees and has me doing these strange TRX exercises that push me to total exhaustion and work my obliques until I cry for mercy.  The crazy part is that I can't wait to go there.  I love the atmosphere, the people, and the camaraderie.  Everyone is there to get stronger, no show offs allowed.  I am surrounded by some of the most determined people I have ever met.  They are an intense group, but they are fully committed to getting and staying strong as most of them need it for their job as well as their health and appearance.  If someone had told me a year ego that I would want to work out every day, I would think they had lost  their mind; but I love it, absolutely love it.  It's my new cross addiction and it doesn't hurt that Summer is almost here and I need to go shopping for a new bikini.  :)

I don't know, wouldn't want to crash the website or anything.  :)    Seriously, it is amazing to like the way you look after not liking it for most of my life.  It is really hard to explain how much that influences my daily life, how it adds confidence to my outlook in other things and how much joy I get out of it on a daily basis.  It is as if for the first time in my life, I am not living only in my head, but have truly integrated the mind/ body connection.  Sometimes I find myself smiling for no reason at all, or I start to skip in the most inappropriate places, just to catch myself feeling like a kid again.  When I ice skate, I can intensify the feeling through my jumps and spins.  The freedom is exhilarating and something I didn't count on when I started this process. I have such gratitude in my heart for what this journey has brought to the table for me.  I bet you feel the same.  Thanks for this thread, I love reading other people's successes.

Yeah, I am starting to feel it. Last weekend we were at a hotel and I was in the pool without a shirt on for the first time in probably 15 years and not self conscious about it. I did have my extra skin tucked into my swim trunks. But on the upside my swim trunks were an XL which I haven't worn since I was a freshman in high school.

This may not sound like much, but I started doing squats as per that Primal Blueprint Fitness video you linked to not long ago.  Given my knees, that's a major thing for me.   So far they are cooperating.  I realized (duh) that I can do squats during those times when I'm literally standing around doing nothing else, like waiting for my tea water to heat up in the microwave.

I also started doing push-ups again for the first time since I was a teen.  So far they are merely the sissy girly knee pushups, but I'm going to be 55yo tomorrow, so I have to ease this cranky body into this stuff.  Better than nothing, though??

You totally have the right idea and you know what, the squats are ultimately going to help you knees. You are strengthening your posterior chain and the muscles above and below your knees will be able to help carry the load much better. Plus you are lightening the load. Your knees will never be what they use to be, but the squats should be good and you are right you can do them anywhere anytime, especially when you are standing around. Once you get good at them start to add some weight. Just start with 2 5lbs hand dumbells that you can get from target for a couple of bucks and then keep going up. If you get really good at them, use the squat rack at your local gym.

Pushups are great too! You are working your two biggest sets of muscles. More lean muscles means more calories burned. Sissy girl pushups are all you need to be doing. Not only are they better than nothing, they are exactly what you should be doing. The stronger you get the more you will do an that is the right idea.
