I strained my lower back yesterday doing squats (on the last one no less) so this may be a rest day for me. But my plan is for only one workout today and that is to head over to the local public track with my daughter today to run 10 60 yard sprints. Full out as fast as we can run 60 yards and repeat that 10 times. This is to help develop the fast twitch muscle fibers in my legs.

Once you start digging into exercise physiology a bit you learn there are different types of muscle fibers and if you just work on one, you don't get the benefits of fully developed muscles. Fast twitch are the muscles you use when you run fast or dodge left/right, etc. Slow twitch muscle fibers are what are developed when you do strength training or for most of us fatties from carrying around a bunch of excess weight for years. I have huge muscular thighs and calves but I am a fairly slow runner, this is because I have very little developed fast twitch muscle fiber and an excess of slow twitch muscle fiber. As I do more sprints and shuttle runs I am gaining some speed.

22 minutes on treadmill on 7 incline at 3.5mph

8 minutes on treadmill on 3 incline at 5.5mph

That's the most I've been able to run in 20 years!

I'm going to the gym today...

30 minutes on the elliptical and 45 minutes with my Personal Trainer on the machines.  I'm still sore from Monday from all the squats and lunges she made me do!!!

You will be amazed at how well you do even sore. After two minutes you won't be sore any more and the more you do this you will get to the point where you are barely sore at all. Also Aleve is great for that type of soreness.

I made it through :). And, don't seem as sore now.  It's all part of the "game". And, it's really kinda feels good:)

45 minutes on the treadmill watching Scandal (I get my trash TV in while I exercise.  It's my reward.  Haha)

Me too! It's like the tv show equivalent of a decadent dessert! I've got two episodes left for the season. Makes the treadmill bearable
