I'm going to say this thing about not experiencing hunger in the first few weeks....
I have had hunger after my first week and I still do and I'm over seven weeks out now. I have talked to my doctor about it and have changed acid medication but I still feel hunger. I have learned to just ignore it but it is only gone for about an hour after I eat. I hate it and really was not expecting to feel it after surgery. I guess everybody is different.
I've been one of the lucky ones that never really have had hunger except a few times.
Now and then, it's been real - esp this far out, but early out, it was ALWAYS acid and/or in my head.
Def watch the acid thing, it doesn't always feel like what you're used to. Hang in there. Therapy really helped me figure out what was real and what was in my head. It's really really hard. xoxo

I'm out one week today so still doing liquids only. I've thought a couple times that I felt hungry. I figured it must be mental, or juices in my stomach, so I just tried to find something to drink that had some flavor. My husband brought home some won ton soup. I strained it (my daughter ate the "food" part) and I drank the broth. It helped a lot. However, the occasional rumbling in my stomach does feel like hunger even though I know it's not. I just try to focus on other things and sip my liquids. I figure it will pass eventually.
Totally agree. I'm 10 days post op and I've had hunger since day three. Its not the same hunger feeling I had pre op though. This is hard to explain but it feels like my stomach is wanting to growl but gets stuck and can't finish what it is trying to do. Anyway, its sort of comes off as a pain....I eat and it doesn't come back for a few hours. Definately hunger.
