Weekend away - NSVs & SV (pics, of course!)
For Father's Day, my hubs wanted a romantic weekend away. I splurged on a room for two nights at a lake resort, we got a couples massage on Friday evening then did jetskis on Saturday morning. I had posted earlier about this French bakery that I had always wanted to try, and I realized (through some very helpful encouragement and advice) that it was NOT worth it to me at this point. We did, however, go to this bakery...so my first NSV is that I didn't get a crepe or an almond croissant. I got some macarons for my toddler to try and some pastries for my hubs and mom. My toddler eats a very healthy diet, but I do so love to see her try new things. The macarons were a hit, and she only ate maybe half of each. I adore that she is this way with food. She eats what she wants, and then she will not eat anymore. I'm trying to reinforce that as much as I can. It's fascinating actually. Some other NSVs from the weekend - wearing a swimsuit in public and not feeling shame or discomfort, not having to worry about the weight limit on the water slide bc I'm no where near 200lbs anymore, wearing 3.5in inseam shorts, feeling sexy (who, me? yes, me!), actually not focusing on food as an indulgence, wrapping a normal sized towel around my body, wearing a size small robe at the spa with much room to spare (those things are huge!), buying a pair of white shorts (thanks, Mimi, for the suggestion), and just generally feeling awesome instead of anxiety ridden. I even lost a pound! I don't think I've ever lost weight on a vacation, weekend or otherwise. If anyone is on the fence about this surgery, I just want to say that I would do it every other year if that was necessary. It is the best thing I've ever done for myself, my family, my marriage. My husband is a wonderful man, but it's been amazing to see how much more solicitous he is of me, how he can't keep his hands off of me, how he's like a puffed up bird when other guys look at me. It's heady, especially after seven years of being together.
Here are some photos! First is the shorts with the 3.5in inseam. I never would have thought I could wear shorts that short and feel comfortable.

And a swimsuit shot - yes, I'm wearing shorts, but it's still a swimsuit shot :)
My beautiful, adorable friend! I am so tickled for all your success and those NSVs are awesome, not to mention losing a pound while on a weekend getaway! Making a bakery trip for everyone else in the family-not sure I could do it- kudos to you sister. Hubby is a hunk and you are a babe. What a great looking couple. Romantic weekend was a nice idea. Glad you had the opp to do it. I love your NSV about wrapping a regular towel around you and the spa robe. I used to think they made those spa robes and hairdresser capes for anorexics, but now I realize they are very generously sized and I can actually fit 3 of me in them! Isn't it awesome?
I know, right?! I was wearing the robe thinking, what kind of small is this?! My hubs also tried to take the smaller life jacket for the jetskis and the dockhand said, "Um dude, that's for your wife." Hilarious.
I actually loved being in the bakery. The smells and the colors and the perfect little cakes (I love baking. It's one of my absolute favorite things to do, and bakeries just tickle me bc I always wanted to own my own). It was wonderful. I also have this weird, semi-voyeuristic pleasure in watching other people eat. That doesn't seem that unhealthy, right? The coffee was excellent at least.
You look fantastic!! Congratulations on your NSVs. Losing weight on vacation. Priceless!!
