Carbs- low carb, moderate carb, ignore carbs... a perspective

Your diet sounds a lot like mine. I say if its working then why not. It's just an easier way to live and I'm not constantly feeling deprived. So that means I'll stick with it. And my weight doesn't fluctuate much. My glycogen stores re not depleted so when I eat a potato I don't wake up 3 pounds heavier.  Now I'm not saying that a higher carb approach is for everyone, but if you are one of the lucky ones that can get away with it then that's great!  I am not triggered by carbs at all. I CAN eat a piece of chocolate out of a box and walk away and not even think about it. We all have to find our way.

Also, my parents are extremely thin people and live on a very high carb, low fat diet with very little processed sugar. They've eaten this way as long as I can remember. They are in their upper 80's and quite healthy.

The low carb way is also a very valid way as well. Its just not for my body. And maybe I'd weigh 125 instead of 135 if I followed a low carb diet but I'm 5'7 and small enough. In fact I've had 3 of my doctors encourage me to gain about 5 pounds believe it or not.

The only way I'd reevaluate things would be if this wasn't working so I'll never say never, lol.
