Xtra Friday Funday - what weird things do you do/like now?

I LOVE smelling like a cookie.  Seriously.  I got some shea/cocoa body butter as a part of a mother's day gift in 2012, and I never used it because I was afraid I'd break out in a rash (super sensitive skin with eczema) but I gave it a whirl a couple months ago.  Now I'm OBSESSED.  I even got some cocoa butter shower gel & sugar scrub.  I just want to walk around smelling myself all day.  I find this hilarious bc they smell exactly like home-baked chocolate chip cookies.  Yup, I've got issues but at least I'm not trying to eat the stuff.

I also bake much more than I ever did pre-op.  I've always loved baking and considered going to culinary school for pastries multiple times (the lack of money starting out always dissuaded me, and one time it was bc our dog needed surgery & chemo).  I love being around beautiful baked goods and watching people at them.  I don't even really want them (most of the time), but actually making tart dough, lovely lemon cream, glazing fresh strawberries, tempering chocolate, whatever is so soothing and comforting to me.  I can see that this is dangerous behavior, and I will stop if it becomes a problem, but right now I can enjoy my sweets without eating them.  I do tend to only makes things that aren't triggers for me (coconut cream pie, carrot cake are two triggers that come to mind)  :)

What weird things have you found that like or do now that you wouldn't have pre-op?

I'm obsessed with swimming now.  I've always loved it, but have never had anywhere to go.  My family recently joined an aquatic center, and getting up before work and going to swim laps has become my most favorite thing to do.  I'm obsessed with it, literally.  I want to be at the pool all of the time, just swimming away.  I love it!  And, I've had a gym membership for a long time now, but just hated going because I always felt so out of place.  I look forward to going there now too.  I have just adopted this "don't like what I look like, don't look at me" attitude.  I'm loving working out 6 days a week, something I NEVER thought I'd say!!

I love to exercise now and if you knew me before VSG you would know how funny that one is! I also love sashimi now and really any kind of fish. Would not eat fish except tuna salad on rare occasions before surgery and had to be made only by certain people. Go figure.

I still don't like fish, but I do like sushi although I really only like rolls so I haven't had any in a very long time.  Someday.... :)

Why didn't you like exercise before?  I love exercise.  It's the only thing that keeps me relatively sane and off of anti-anxiety meds.

I  like dresses, sounds funny but I never liked having to wear a dress before, now at least twice a week I wear a casual dress (not at work, I wear scrubs at work)

Love!  I love dresses, but I don't get to wear them very often chasing around my toddler :)

You do know that I made an entire post about falling in love with a perfume that smells like ginger cookies? Hmmm.... we can just be crazy together.  :)  I do have people stop me and ask for the name of my perfume and others that ask to sit next to me just so they can keep smelling me.  :)  Seriously funny, especially in support group.
