LOL! I am not there yet! I am a little sore and exhausted today. Sore from cardio = out of shape! The scale is responding to the working out though.
Since right now I am not feeling super comfortable with doing a strength training routine in the gym, I am thinking about doing strength training videos at home. I am researching a good program now. What do you think? Any suggestions?
Do you like cardio? I prefer cardio workouts to strength training, and I really liked Jillian's 30 Day Shred. It's very light weights combined with cardio - the workouts only require 3 or 5lb weights - so it's a good starter workout. If you're looking for something with heavier lifting and want to make a real investment in weights or you could go cheaper with just using bands (I found them annoying) - I really liked P90X. I'm sure there are tons of other DVD workouts that are great. You could just get some weights or bands and look for YouTube workouts :)
I do like cardio but don't mind doing that at the gym. It's just the strength training part that I don't feel ready to do alone at the gym. I already have weights and a band at home. P90X seems super advanced. Will I die? LOL
Haha, no, you will not die. Don't be afraid of any workouts, really. You can start out slow, and you will be amazed at how quickly you progress. Also, you don't have to do the actual 90 day program (I did it, and I did doubles bc I was unemployed at the time and it was before my wedding). There's a learning curve for any workout, but you just gotta jump right in and get started. Your mind is mostly what holds you back, so just believe in yourself and push through mental blocks while being safe. Does that make sense?
Makes perfect sense. I may go with that because the strength training workouts look amazing. Maybe I will do those and do cardio in the gym on the cardio days. I have to be careful with my stupid knee. Damn ACL tare!
You're right though... even if I have to take breaks or can't do some of the exercises... It is worth it and I will definitely improve!
