Elina I am both happy and sad to report that my signficant weight gain that showed up on the scale yesterday is already gone. I thought we were going to be kindred spirits this week pounding off the ill gotten gains from the weekend. I figured most of mine was water from beer and moonshine, but I didn't expect it to come off in a day. I was showing 223.7 yesterday morning. This morning I got a nice little gift of 217.3. I did punish myself pretty good yesterday though, this morning too. Hopefully i can keep up this nice little head of steam and scrape off another pound or two by the end of the week. I hope I am not inadvertently working on a theory that beer could be a weight loss tool. JUST KIDDING EVERYONE BEER IS BAD AND MOONSHINE IS BADDER! ERER!

Two points--

1) losing weight is much easier when you are a guy, and it doesn't hurt that you are a beast in the gym.  :)

2) Don't get too ****y-- I too used be able to lose like crazy early out.  Something changes around the 3rd or 4th year.  I am not sure what it is, but I it becomes much harder to just drop a few pounds the way I could in the first two years.  I've talked to some other VETS who are further out who seem to have the same experience.  I ate super clean yesterday and somehow managed to gain .2 pounds.  That would never have happened early out.  Still, I am confident that I will be back to my fighting weight by the end of the month.  I am going to run my butt off today and eat like I was just sleeved.  Let's see what the scale has to say to me tomorrow.  Of course it doesn't help one bit that my girlfriend called me and asked me to set up a girl's night out for Thursday.... :)

Trust me no ****iness here. I was completely blown away. I really expected to see no change, in fact I almost didn't weigh and was just going to use yesterday. Its also a lot easier to lose water weight than fat and I am sure I was retaining like there was no tomorrow. I sweat my butt off yesterday, so that is my explanation. The extra lb that I was down from my low last week was the gift. Plus I got a lot of sleep Sunday night, so I am sure that didn't hurt. I didn't get a great night last night, but I am sure I will tonight after my 2nd workout today.

Yeah, great, that will work.  All I need now is a full catered bar with a great looking mixologist and the Stanford men's rowing and gymnastics teams to join us.  Otherwise, I am all set.  :)

I know you're kidding, Keith, but beer and alcohol are really good dehydration tools.  I have an ex-sister-in-law who used to go on her "beer diets"....swore it helped her lose weight!  Nah...it just caused her to get really dehydrated.  No big surprise that she's a full-blown alcoholic many years later :-(

In all actuality there are a lot of b vitamins in beer and they do boost energy. Now there is a limit to that of course but all told beer is not bad, only after the 4th or 5th one.

I am sad to report however that your ex-sister-in-law's theory doesn't hold water. My wife has been on that diet for over 20 years it doesn't seem to be helping.

Yeah I was on that diet for many years as well. Dragged around a beer belly for 20 years. Luckily nine months of busting my ass has melted it away.....

Elina good to know that in a year or two or three I'll no longer have the magical "wow i screwed up but yippee two days later it's all in the past" cure. I'll make sure to nip that thinking in the bud right now :)
