What's Your Workout Today VSGers? - Wednesday!
Gym - 30 mins treadmill, 30 mins elliptical
If the super fit, trainer girl I have seen a few times is there, I am going to ask her what her rates are. When I was there on Tuesday, she was doing a group training session with like 4 women. Maybe if I could get in on something like that, it would be cheaper. I am going to cut some stuff out of my budget to try to fit in personal training, at least for a while. It will make me feel more comfortable, get an awesome workout and feel like I am learning. I am worth it!
Its a good idea, but does not necessarily have to be a long term thing. Be upfront and say you need to learn how to use the equipment and a few exercise to help build lean muscle. You can probably get what you need from as little as 1 to 3 sessions. You might also check out your local YMCA or community center they may offer free or very inexpensive fitness classes.
Here's the thing.. I've done a lot of gym work previously. Had personal trainers and even did crossfit. I just work better with a plan and someone pushing me I think.
I live in Riverdale. My zip code is 10471. Thanks Keith!
Cool! My daughter went to Fordham!
Here are a couple things I found:
The WYHA offers a weight training class for women. The Y seemed a bit pricey to join ($60/mo) but they do offer a day pass for $15, this might be a good place to learn a few things.

Planet Fitness which looks like its just down the road as monthly no contract memberships for $10/mo. Looks like it is just now opening but they offfer a bunch of free training

Looks like an organization called ShapeUp-NYC offers a bunch of free classes in the Bronx
I love my Personal Trainer. That way I am obligated to exercise. I don't like it and I doubt I ever will. However, I like the results:). She changes things up so I am not bored and my muscles keep guessing. It's worth it for me! I hope you find something that works for you! Oh, did I mention she comes to my house...love that! We do meet at the Y occasionally.
An hour of water zumba, plus some extra movement before and/or after class. I did 85 minutes in the pool on Monday - hoping to at least reach that if not top it today.
I'm starting to really get excited about the idea of putting on my earphones, cranking up the angry music and walking on the treadmill, stair machine, etc. I wish my feet would cooperate (horrible plantar fasciitis that is not improving), but for now the pool is my best option. Oh yeah, I've been eye-balling those weight machines too. Now that I'm 2 months out, I need to get reacquainted with them!
