What's Your Workout Today VSGers? - Friday!

Does packing for camp count? My daughter heads off to a 10 day wilderness excursion camp on Sunday. Just got the packing list. 54 different items! So the gym's a no-go tonight and I'm off to Wal-Mart, Dick's etc. after work.
Hey Keith, fitness Guru, I have a couple of questions for ya.
1.) Know of any good exercises that can be done at your desk? On a day like today where I have to cancel a gym day I'd like to compensate, even some, while I'm at work.
2.) Totally OT, but you're from Florida right? What are your thoughts on Gainesville? I'm considering UF for Law School.
Not Keith, but I'm from FL and went to FSU. I know tons of people who went toUF for undergrad. Gainesville is like a swamp. The humidity is terrible and it's really hot. Other than that, UF is a great school and Gainesville is a cute city. I'm from the Tampa Bay Area, which I prefer bc you get beaches :)

Keith, hehe, sorry to hijack your thread!!!
Deena! I didn't know you went to FSU! That's awesome. FSU contacted me with a pretty tempting scholarship offer for their Law School. It would be a HUGE change from Maine, going from a population in my town of 8K to a pop of 134K. And of course no snow...I'm so NOT used to warm weather. It's 95 degrees here in Maine today and that happens about 1 week out of the year. Right now my top picks are in Texas, Florida and Mississippi, so I better get used to the heat somehow!
Come to TX! Is it UT? Please go there! :)
I've heard FSU's law school is good, and it's right in the capital so you would get that experience as well if you were interested in politics. I know someone who went to law school there, I think. If you want, I can message him and see if he did. He works in FL politics, nice guy, a little weird, but very nice. The heat is killer, but you get used to it. I like Gainesville better as a city than Tallahassee, but maybe that's bc I lived in Tally for 3 years for undergrad. Scholarships are awesome. I had a full ride, thankfully, since I don't use my theatre degree working in finance. LOL. You must have done an amazing job on your LSATs. Sexy and smart and tough. Total package, you are.

Awww! Thank you!! It is UT. I did fairly well on the LSAT's, not Harvard level exactly, but my GPA is pretty great so I think that balances it out some. I have been really surprised at the offers I've been getting from schools. I was recently contacted by a recruiter at Columbia, which was sort of thrilling even though I'm not fond of NY. My significant other (I hate saying boyfriend, we've been together 5 years and have a child together, but when I say SO people assume I'm gay, anyway...) just finished his Associates in Bio Science and is deciding where he wants to go from there, so I'm also trying to pick areas that gives him some options. Plus, I need to choose a family friendly area because I have my 3 kids and also somewhere that has options for my son's Epilepsy, Sensory Processing Disorder, Receptive/Expressive Speech Disorder and blanketed developmental delays. It's a tall order and like you I'm a planner! Speaking of which, we need to iron out some details for October soon. Sooooo excited to see you!!!
That IS a tall order, but you can do it! I will highly recommend Austin over Tally or Gainesville as I live here (the temp is comparable to Gainesville with less humidity), and it's a fantastic city. Super duper fantastic. You should come visit and check it out. You can stay with me :) ATX really is a great city to raise kids in. It's up and coming, we had 60,000 people move here last year alone, jobs are pretty plentiful, UT is a really good school, we have a Trader Joe's now in addition to tons of other similar groceries (food is ALWAYS on my mind). It's the capital. It's got enough TX charm to be TX, but it's hippie dippie-ish too which I appreciate. It's also a healthy city with tons of stuff to do.
And yes! Let's iron out the details for October! I'm so psyched to meet you in person! We're going to have sooooo much fun!
And I really mean the offer to stay with me if you want to check out UT in person. I'll even cook healthy meals for you, and you can come to kickboxing with me. hehe
