Home from the hospital....Ten pounds heavier?

Just arrived home from the hospital and stepped on my scales only to have gained 10 pounds. I am assuming that this is from all of the IV fluid that they pumped in me the last 24 hours. I did not urinate much while at the hospital. I am wondering, is this normal? I am feeling great and did not have any issues. Not freaking out or anything, just curious.

Definately normal.  I was 5lbs up for three days after surgery then it disappeared.  Glad your surgery went well.

I was up 8 lbs after surgery and it took 7 days to get back to my surgery weight.  From then, it was downhill.

I'm shocked about the lack of urination...all those fluids being pumped in, I was in the bathroom almost every other hour...I must have a bladder the size of a pea!!

I am shocked as well. Even when I had the catheter, the nurses said that I barely passed on the amount needed to be okay.
