Meat and Nuts Breakfast
I don't usually like this guy, but this article is pretty good. Just keep in mind that this guy is a body builder and can eat, so adjust any portions to a VSG friendly size (i.e. 2-4oz of meat and 1/4 cup of nuts). The end of the article sites a study that looked into protein supplements for breakfast versus whole foods which was very interesting. There is also a very good list of low glycemic/low fructose fruits at the end of the article.
This is great info. Thank you for sharing it. I wonder if natural peanut butter would work instead of whole nuts?

question? can you eat and tolerate nuts? Or is it a time thing...like 10 months out I should be fine? Just wondering.
ANd...what do you think of this recipe in light of nuts? A friend gave it to me and I will probably make them for my son in stead of giving him store bought granola bars. But I would like to try something like this for breakfast but didn't think I'd be able to tolerate it. I'm only 2 weeks post op...so I know this type of food is way off for me.

I have never had an issue with nuts and I have been eating them since I got to full foods. Almonds are a great source of healthy fats. For VSG we have to be careful with nuts because they are very calorically dense and you could easliy find yourself well above your daily calorie goal if you go crazy.
That recipe sounds pretty good to me. I may give it a try.
