Zero days - my surgeon doesn't keep sleeve patients on full liquids post-op. In fact, they had me try a bite of egg and cream of wheat before I left the hospital. You'll find that's NOT the norm here.

I was on clear liquids for 10 days, full liquids for 10 days, then soft/mushy/pureed for 10 days. After no problems with any of those stages I could go on to regular foods. I think this approach helped my stomach to heal and for me to really evaluate my food choices and change my habits, which worked really well for me.

Clear liquids for a week, full liquids for a week, soft food for 2 weeks, then I could eat anything.

My surgeons plan is by week

Days 1-7: clear liquid(drink protein shots) Days 8-14: full liquids (thinned cream soups, milk, peanut butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, protein shakes) Days 15-21: soft diet (eggs, cream of wheat, soft canned fruits, eggs, dried beans) Days: 22-28: mechanical diet( tuna, baked or broiled fish, canned chicken) Days 29-35 mechanical diet( add ground beef, turkey, chicken, chili) Days 36 and beyond: regular diet Do not eat steak or pork chops until 3 months post-op      Honestly clear liquids were my favorite week! It gets rough when you start buying things to try and waste your money.... A lot more frustration too!

I was on clear liquids for 24 hours after surgery then full liquids (true liquids, not yogurt or applesauce and stuff like that) for four weeks.
