I really stepped up my work out game this week. In a day and a half I have managed to hit every major muscle group and I am sore all over and I love it. Its a good feeling because its exactly what I wanted to feel.

Now for those of you who are not sure how to warm up before weight training, here is what I have been doing for a couple of weeks now and it has really improved my workouts. The idea is to heat up your body, get your heart rate pumping, and losen up your body. I have always done 5 minutes on the treadmill before weight training. Its a good way to get your heart rate up, and get lose. But I wasn't getting that much out of it, so I switch it up a bit and it was a game changer. Now I still do 5 minutes. I get to 3mph walking speed. I start at 6% incline, then every minute I increase it by 2%. On the last minute I max it out at 15% keeping the same speed. My heart rate goes from 80 something to up around 120 by the end of the 5 minutes. Don't hold on, swing your arms to keep your balance. If you hold on you won't warm up your whole body.

Don't forget to stretch...when you are done with your workout. NOT before!
