Clever Quest bar discovery

At work? No access to a microwave? Want a Quest bar but don't like how hard it is? Set it next to your computer's exhaust fan for a few minutes...

hmm what bars are good for us??? been thinking about getting some for breakfast (the hardest meal for me to get in)

was looking at powercrunch bars..only 10 carbs, i estimate i could eat 1/2 for breakfast and the other 1/2 for an afternoon snack....

but i get over whelmed looking at bars bc so many are super high carbs even if they say on the pkg carb conscious, and between net carbs and this and that...i just get crazy overwhelmed and end up leaving with none

I have been eating 1/2 a Quest bar at a time because they are FILLING. On the coconut cashew one I had this morning, the carbs for 1/2 a bar are 12 (still sort of high), but fiber is 8.5 which is more than I get in an entire day if I don't have a Quest bar. Protein is 10. Calories, again for 1/2 a bar, are 75. In general, I am ok in choosing a snack that is pretty equal in carbs and protein if the calories are low. I'm finding it quite easy to stay within 40 gms of carbs even with my Quest intake.

Re: breakfast, I had an AHA! moment yesterday - Hubby bought ItsAboutTime fill-and-shake shakes and it dawned on me that when I drink a shake, I am getting both a jump on my protein AND extra liquids...

The doc had said I should try to get what I need from food, and I could get 60 gms of protein easily that way, but this gives me a double boost, so why not?

I've got another trick I accidentally discovered last week. Carry your Quest bar in the back pocket of your jeans. The bar got a little flattened, but oh so soft and yummy

Mine are always soft    Are yours hard?

I just went and bought some more from GNC and asked about this and he showed me some of the flavors I hadn't tried are sorta harder.

the cookie dough and raspberry white chocolate are soft but the lemon, cinnamon roll and sometimes the Chocolate brownie can be hard as  rock lol...the brownie ones are yummy in the microwave tho!

THe hard ones feel like they could break your teeth but at least you can't eat them too fast! lol

The cinnamon roll and Chocolate Brownie were a little harder than the others I had.  Non of mine were hard.  I am wondering if they get hard it they aren't fresh or something.  I did just throw the brownie in the micro and you are soooooooo right, yummy and 20 g protein.  Yeah.
