Exerise Challenge - Legs

Most people, especially us obese or formerly obese people tend to skip leg workouts because we somehow rationalize that since we carried around so much weight for so many years that our legs are as strong as they need to be or stronger. The sad reality is that yes our legs were strong because we carried around so much weight but may of our muscles did not develop in the proper way and we have issues with our hips because of how we walk as well as weak inner thigh muscles. For me personally I have an enormous muscle on my outer hip because my hip abductors are so week. I have been working non-stop for 9 months to correct it and I am only now starting to see the smallest of results.

Also our legs have some of the biggest and strongest muscles in our bodies and therefore will burn the most calories when exercised. So get your leg workouts in for sure, never skip leg day. My challenge to all of you today is to get some leg work in today!

I'm not gonna lie, leg day sucks monkey butt, but after a couple of weeks you will come to appreciate it. Especially when you get to the point where walking the next day isn't painful. For the first couple of weeks expect pain and lots of it. Now I can do my whole leg set and I just feel it a little bit.

It was an awesome workout....machines today.  Elliptical w/focus on resistance and sprinting, Arc, and stair stepper.  The quads are burnin!!

I LOVE working my legs!!!

Tonight I have spin class.  I plan on cranking up the tension a bit more.  I CAN handle it!
