NSV - 5K in 30:11

Well I didn't meat my goal of under 30 mins for this morning's ZooMiami 5K but I was really freaking close and that is over 8 minutes faster than the last 5K. So I am happy with that. I ran at a 9:43 pace and my new goal (longer term) is an 8 min mile.

I'm hoping to do my first 5K the month of my next birthday (March).  Starting with 1-mile races to get ready.

Check out the C25K app. That is a great way to get up to running a 5k in a fairly short amount of time.

That is excellent, Keith! My hubby is chasing that 8 min mile goal, as well. It's a process, just stick with it and I know you will get there!

Keith, I will TOTALLY meet you for a race and pace you for your 8 minute miles :). Just let me know where and when!  Honestly, the gap from 10-8:00 closed very quickly for me...follow Hal Higdon's Intermediate 8K program!  That's what finally got me there, I'm at. 7:42 pace now, hoping for 23:00 on my next race (10/6)
