I've had IBS for years and it eased up some after surgery but i struggled still. Then i found a probiotic gummie with fiber made by Schiff. Really works for me now. I havee a current post about probiotics to get other opinions on them.

Fruit and veggies as well as limited seeds (sunflower) did it for me for 11 months. Water and exercise too. In the last couple of weeks I have added a smooth move tea in the evenings. Green tea also apparently helps. I have never taken fiber apart from what I get in food and never any stool softeners nor any milk of magnesia or miralax or anything. A glycerine suppository maybe three or four times during the year too. I can count on one hand the times I have skipped a day in the BM department. But, I do eat more of a "balanced" diet including fats and probably higher in carbs from fruit and veggies than many. That is probably why I am still 15 lbs from goal but it is a trade off I am quite willing to live with forever, if indeed  my loss is slower because of this and not other things. I am one unhappy puppy if I am not regular.

Good old prune juice, but unsweetened. That does it for me!
