...ummm...I really would talk to your doc before self medicating. Even if its an OTC med. Just sayin'...

and abt the hunger, do you FEEL hunger pangs or just hear your stomach growling and gurgling? Because mine growls and gurgles and plays wild rock concerts sometimes but  I don't FEEL hunger. and I am not on any meds.

Calories and exercise insight. I workout 5-6 days a week. Classes include body combat (400 calorie burn) step (600 calories) body pump (350 calories) all according to my polar hrm. I take step class on Saturday and Sunday and will then jump on elliptical or take another class to get a 1000 calorie burn. On the weekends I have negative net calories. I eat about 800-900 calories a day never over 1000 and never eat extra calories that I burned. I always under eat my sleeve. Never been sick or had the foamies. At times I feel hungrier. I feel this is due to exercise. Should I eat more calories? I'm not sure if what I am doing is sustainable long term. I am about 40 lbs from surgeons goal. Thanks!

Now that is a question that will get you all kinds of answers. On my crazy days I do eat more calories and a few more carbs. Days that I have two workouts for sure. Days that I don't workout I scale back.

I think you would benefit from how you eat as well. So you really should not workout on an empty stomach unless it is low intensity cardio (like walking or bike). Before any kind of weight or strength training you should consume some protein like 30-60 mins beforehand. After your workout (within the next hour) you should eat some protein with carbs and by this I do not necessarily mean high carbs, just some carbs, so whatever your meal plan is for the day the things with the highest carb count should be eaten after your workout.

What you are doing is sustainable for sure, but the problem you will face soon if you are not already there is that your body gets used to what you do and if you do not switch it up every 3 - 4 weeks you will not get as much out of it as you did when you started. Now if the classes you are already taking switch things up for you, you can probably go longer, but your body will ultimately get used to the same level and type of exercise. You can mitigate this by switching to heavier strength training and traditional HIIT cardio and then back to the classes you like.

Thanks for your help, everyone!  I'll try priolosec and if that doesn't work I'll see if I can get the doc to give me something else.

Protiase Pump Inhibitor, its a class of drugs that essentially turns off the pumps in your stomach that let the stomach acid in.

You're quick. Thank you so much Keith. I just googled it. Never heard of it before. You're so helpful!
